Girls U14 C2

  • The Chippewa Strikers U14 girls team defeated St. Cloud at the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association State Tournament on Thursday night in Blaine, Minnesota. The Strikers scored early in the game on a goal by Grace Ritzinger with an assist from Haley Mason. The Strikers added two more goals in the first half on goals by Mason with assists from Ella Gehl and Hannah Pynch. St. Cloud scored on a penalty kick just before halftime to make the score 3-1 at halftime. Mason scored two more goals in the second half with an assist from Gehl on the last goal to make the final score 5-1. The Strikers finished the state tournament with 19 points during group play and failed to advance to the semifinal game on Friday. The Strikers finished the season with a league record of 5-2-3 and an overall record of 12-7-4.

  • The Chippewa Strikers U14 Girls team defeated Duluth in their second game of the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association State Tournament on Tuesday night in Blaine, Minnesota. Duluth scored first in the 14th minute of the game to take a 1-0 lead. Before the half, the Striker's Haley Mason scored on an assist from Grace Ritzinger to tie the game 1-1. Duluth then scored on the kick off to begin the second half to take a 2-1 lead. With eight minutes remaining in the game, Hannah Pynch scored for the Strikers with an assist from Haley Mason. Three minutes later Haley Mason scored the gamewinner to defeat Duluth by a final score of 3-2. The Strikers will play St. Cloud on Thursday in the last game of group play. The winner of the group will advance to the semifinal game on Friday.

  • The Chippewa Strikers U14 girls team lost to Mankato in their first game of the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association State Tournament. Mankato scored in the 19th minute to take an early lead and led 1-0 at half. After halftime, Mankato scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to take a 4-0 lead. Later, Haley Mason scored a goal with an assist from Grace Ritzinger to make it 4-1. Mankato scored one more goal to defeat the Strikers by a final score of 5-1. The Strikers will play Duluth on Tuesday and St. Cloud on Thursday. The team with the most points during group play will advance to the semifinal round.

  • The Chippewa Strikers U14 girls team has qualified for the MYSA State Tournament, which will be played at the Blaine National Sports Center (1700 105th Ave NE, Blaine, MN).  There are three groups of four teams (12 teams total) in the state tournament.  The Strikers were one of five automatic bids.  The other seven teams will be determined at the state qualifier tournament. The Strikers will play on the following dates:

    Monday, July 23, 6:45 pm, Field J3, v. Mankato

    Tuesday, July 24, 3:15 pm, Field H4, Opponent TBD

    Thursday, July 26, 5 pm, Field H4, Opponent TBD

  • The Chippewa Strikers U14 girls team lost to Eau Claire United 5-1 on Monday night in Eau Claire. United scored two goals in the first four minutes of the game. The Strikers had multiple goal scoring opportunities in the first half but could not finish them. Haley scored one goal in the second half for the Strikers on a run down the middle of the field.
