  • 2017 MYSA Summer State Qualifiers

    The Chippewa Strikers Soccer Club will be represented by 7 teams at the 2017 Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) Summer State Qualifiers which start Thursday, July 13th. Teams will play single elimination qualifier games to determine their placement in the MYSA Summer State Tournament. 

     
    Led by first year coach, Lee Schmidgall, the U11 boys took on 5 different teams in their C3 bracket coming out with a 1st place seed with a record of 7-1-1, 24 goals against and 28 goals for.
     
    2nd year Coach Josh Weichert faced a few challenges as he brought the U12 boys into the C2 bracket after a strong finish last year as C3. The team fought hard against 5 other teams in their bracket to end with a 1-1-8, 45 goals against and 17 for. The U12 placed 4th in regular season.
     
    The U13 girls also jumped into the C2 bracket and fought hard. Led by Kevin Mason in his 4th season as the girls' coach, the team landed in 3rd place with a 3-3-4 record, 34 goals against and 21 goals for.
     
    Coach Chris Brooke, in his 4th season, took the U14 boys' team in to 2nd place in the C3 bracket during the regular season finishing with a 8-1-1 record. The team had 11 goals against and 25 for. The U14 team started their season early by participating in the National Sports Center Kick-Off Challenge Tournament in Blaine, MN where they walked away winning the U14 championship. 
     
    The U16 boys battled in the C2 bracket ending up taking 4th place. 7th year coach, Michael Pynch, led the boys to a 4-5-1 record with 23 goals against and 17 for. 
     
    Coach David Shaurette returned for his 5th season leading the U18 girls in the C2 bracket. The team ended with a 6-3-1 record taking 3rd place out of 7 teams. 22 goals against, 24 for.
     
    Led by first year coach, Nate Meyer, the U18 boys started out strong and continued to hold their own. The team finished 7-3-0, 23 goals against and 29 for, to take 2nd place in the C2 bracket. 
     
    Teams successful in the Qualifier rounds will head to MYSA Summer State Tournament held July 21-23 for the C3 teams in Mankato or Rochester, MN. C2 teams will play for the State title July 26-29 at varies sites in the metro area.
